President Donald J. Trump hosted Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the White House on April 18, 2025, reaffirming U.S.-Italy ties across security, trade, and technology . The leaders endorsed Trump’s efforts to broker a Ukraine ceasefire and committed to strengthening NATO defense cooperation and transatlantic supply chains . They also pledged joint action against illegal immigration, organized crime, and synthetic drug trafficking . Additionally, both nations agreed to collaborate on AI, space exploration, and energy security, including increased U.S. liquefied natural gas exports to Italy . Trump accepted an invitation to visit Italy soon, potentially alongside a broader U.S.-Europe summit .
